Closing night in Detroit...

My friend and I won the ticket lotto for closing night in Detroit. WOOHOO! We were front row! Awesome.

Here's some notable things:

*Boq lost his hat in Dancing Through Life... I asked the actor at the stage door about it, and he said it's usually stolen, and that he thinks Fiyero stole it tonight. I later reported this to Fiyero ( like a loyal fangirl) and he said, "What! I think tonight it fell off... grrrr..." Thinking back, it may have been the bigger ensemble girl, the one who has the antler-looking hat in the Emerald City.

*Kendra = BOUNCY BOUNCY. Amazing pixie stick Popular, as always. She/Julia cried at the end of For Good... :( She looked so heartbroken after finding Elphie's hat, hardly anyone laughed at "They seemed so happy with their brains and their hearts and everything..." (morrible)

*hahaha omg! During Thank Goodness, after the first ensemble part in front of the Oz Map scrim, it's supposed to go up to reveal Glinda/Morrible/Fiyero on the podium, but it got stuck and it kept going up a bit, then down. The ensemble was like "Errrrr.... *GRIN*" and some guy yelled out, "BOW!" so a couple of them bowed and we clapped.

*There is a very very very scary guy.. with BUGGING EYES at the end of No One Mourns the Wicked. He starts the first (at the end of the song) "wicked" with really dull "oh god why am I doing this?" eyes and by the last "wicked" his eyes are BULGING OUT. *tear*

*Haha! A girl during March of the Witch Hunters had the fake torch, and she kept burning people with it. (Putting it in their face or on their clothes.) (Come to think of it, it may have been Maria? Kind of looked like her to me.)

*Boq did fantabulous tonight. Best Wicked Witch of the East performance with him.. y'just want to smack Nessa and set him free.

In any case, I now resign my Fiyero!Fangirling and obsess over Kirk McDonald. I wish I could've seen him in the Scarlet Pimpernel!

lol... unless I catch a train to New York/Chicago, no posts from me for a while!

Haha I went to that show.

When Sebastian lost his hat I knew someone was gonna take it haha I would've.
Kendra's "Popular" was so flippin funny I couldn't stay on the edge of my seat. Especially the "sparkle" oh I loved her."
At the beginning of the second act we were wondering what was going on with the curtain. I didn't hear the guy say bow, but i did we them bow and we clapped haha.
Kendra DID that spin with her wand during the catfight!!

The only thing with me was that it seemed like Julia was using her falsetto alot during the first act up until Defying Gravity. Was she sick? Cause she was sounding really quiet. But never the less she was amazing I want to see it again soon. =)

One other thing haha at the stage door I met Kendra and we took two pictures: the first one cause I blinked, and on the second one the flash was off haha and then: picture a 19 year old bald black man trying to do "toss, toss." haha it was funny.

AND i was telling my friend cause he was in a wheelchair (he hurt his ankle) so we walked out the stage door I was like "I feel so important" and started waving to people, and someone asked me for my autograph and a picture. Course I gave it to her haha didn't have the heart to tell her i wasn't in the show.

okay i'm done. =)

hahah TOSS TOSS.

Omg... that's amazing that someone wanted your autograph. LOL.

Did you see the little girl in the witch dress? lol next time I see Wicked I'm gonna dress like a witch to see if it works the same way... I doubt it will.

Oh heck yes Kendra spun that wand in the cat fight... it always gets major claps.

Well I know Julia's recovering from a vocal injury of some kind, I think she had just gotten back a few days before. By falsetto do you mean her... kinda weird "cackle" ish sounding voice? (lol even if you don't, I really hate it when she does that... it ruins the moment, in my opinion.)

Where were you sitting?

Haha I know. But i did it anyway. It made me feel special. :)

Yea i saw her, she was adorable. I don't think I could get away with that though. (see above...19 year old Black man wearing a witch's costume going *toss toss*)

What i meant by falsetto, it's a choir term, means her "head voice", when you usually sing, you sing from your diaphram (oh god i hope i'm spelling that right haha), when you go into your falsetto, you don't use your diaphram. It makes for a sweeter tone.

God I don'pt feel like getting up to go get my ticket. But I was in Aisle 1, almost in the back, but I didn't care cause I finally got to see the show. =)

oh... LOL I should've known that, I was in choir for a couple years (haha not that I was good so maybe it's excusable)

haha.. I dunno, if you wore the witch costume they might be weirded out just enough to fawn over you. XD

LOVELY review :)
I'm still jealous that you saw it 4 times while it was here, lol. But it's sweet that you got to see Victoria Matlock AND Julia. That is very cool :)
And I'm jealous of the sentimental For Good. haha. ♥
